Sigrún Helga Lund

Sigrún Helga Lund is a Professor of Statistics at the University of Iceland. Her research focuses on biostatistics, epidemiology, genetics and the analysis of large-scale health and genetic data, with an emphasis on data-driven methods and the use of artificial intelligence in the health sciences. She is a co-author of more than one hundred peer-reviewed scientific papers and of the textbooks Tölfræði frá grunni (“Statistics from Scratch”) and R frá grunni (“R from Scratch”), and has taught mathematics and statistics at the University of Iceland for over two decades while serving in a wide range of advisory and committee roles for public authorities and industry.
