Community signals for a computer game
Lýsing
We study how player conversation changes over time and whether it can act as an early warning signal for business outcomes. Using both in-game chat and external community channels (forums, Reddit, Discord), we track how topics evolve and how sentiment changes within each topic, with a focus on spotting new or fast-growing issues. The project then tests whether these shifts line up with changes in player churn and average revenue per active player, and produces an interpretable monitoring layer that can support Live Ops, product decisions, and communication planning. Discussion of war and conflict is especially important to track, as it often aligns with meaningful changes in player activity and spending.
